I am an astrophysicist at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I study the environments around supermassive black holes in distant galaxies using infrared observations.
At UTSA, we are preparing to be in the paths of two eclipses within the next year. I am involved in several eclipse-related projects. Eclipse Soundscapes is a project to record the changing sounds of wildlife, primarily insects, during the eclipses. We are also partnering with Uvalde ISD, as well as Eagle Pass and Del Rio ISD, to ensure they have eclipse viewing and learning materials.
For both eclipses, I'll be at the Texas Wine Collective. For more information, click the TX eclipses tab.
